For the Sixth Chakra
(Meditation as Medicine, Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa, p. 249)
Posture: Sit in Easy Pose.
Focus: Look at the tip of your nose (the lotus tip).
Breath: Long, slow and deep breathing through the nose.
Mantra: There is no mantra.
Mudra: The hands are in Gyan Mudra with the pads of your index fingers touching the pads of your thumbs. The other three fingers are straight.
Time: 11 minutes.
End: Inhale, hold your breath for 10 seconds, exhale and relax.
Comments: It is said that by practicing this meditation between the hours of
4:00 am and 6:00 am local time, you will control the entire glandular system for
the next 24 hours. This means the glandular secretions will be released in
exactly the right amounts. As this occurs, the chemistry of your blood will change
for the better.
