For the Second Chakra
(Meditation as Medicine, p. 193)
Posture: Sit in easy pose or in a chair with your spine straight. Apply Root Lock. Lift the chest high, chin in (i.e., Neck Lock).
Focus: The eyes are focused at the tip of the nose.
Breath: Inhale in the starting position, exhale as you bring your hands in and squeeze.
Mantra: Listen to the mantra, Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad.
Meaning of Mantra: There is only one Creator who is realized by His grace.
Mudra: The hands are open with fingers straight.
Begin by bringing your arms out to the sides, elbows bent, with the palms of the hands facing each other, about shoulder width apart. The hands are angled toward each other at a 60-degree angle. Now bring your hands towards each other at the center of your body, but do not let them touch. This movement is strong and sharp, something like a clap without touching the hands. As your hands move inward, tighten the sex organ and release it as the hands move back to the starting position.
For men the tightening is centered at the base of the sex organ, for women, the contraction includes the clitoris. This is not a Root Lock — the anus and navel point are not contracted with the sex organ.
Time: Begin with 11 minutes and slowly work up to 31 minutes.
End: Inhale and hold the breath, and tighten and tense every muscle in the body. Hold for 15 seconds and relax. Repeat the cycle 2 more times.
Comments: This meditation brings healing energy to ailments of the second chakra.
