For Abundance
(Yoga for Prosperity, pp. 98-99.)
Center yourself with three deep inhalations and exhalations (or by chanting Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo).
Posture: Sit in easy pose or in a chair with a straight spine, feet flat on the floor and with a light neck lock (Jalandhar Bandh).
Focus: In Part One, look at the third eye point. In Part Two, look at the tip of the nose.
Mantra: There is no mantra with this meditation.
Part One: Make a fist of the left hand with the thumb holding down the fingers. Wrap the right hand around the fist and place this mudra 6-8 inches in front of the heart center with the palms facing down. Breathe as long and deep as possible. Continue for 17 minutes.
Part Two: Now, hold the orange in the left hand with the right hand over it and the palms facing down 6-8 inches in front of the heart center. Hold the orange as a symbol of prosperity and abundance. (Remember to focus on the tip of the nose!) Breathe long and deep. Continue for 7 minutes.
Part Three: Peel the orange and eat it slowly and carefully, tasting the essence of prosperity as you chew.
Comments: About this meditation, Yogi Bhajan said, “Feel yourself holding your abundance. The hand is your spirit. It is not a hand you are holding; it is Jupiter, Saturn, Sun and Mercury. The best thing is to know what you have. Sometimes we do not have the power to concentrate and we miss the opportunity. Elementary abundance is in your hand. Your hands will hold it, the breath of life, the breathing (prana) will be the longest and maximum and you will concentrate. That is all that is needed.”
As a variation, you may practice Part Two and Part Three only. This is recommended if you are doing this meditation for 40 days.
