Millet Soup

1 cup millet (rinsed)
2 medium onions, diced
2 stalks celery or carrots, bite size
1 clove garlic, diced
2 tsp cumin seeds
2 TBL Bragg Liquid Aminos
1 tsp sea salt (or one stick of kombu)
1 1/2 quarts water
1 inch ginger root, finely chopped
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp cumin powder
Put rinsed millet into a medium sized pot, add the water.
Add all of the other ingredients.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover pot. Cook for 1 or 2 hours.
This dish is tasty, although mild; even kids will eat it. For a nice spice hit, serve a salsa on the side.
