KYL’s December Theme

Yoga & Meditation
Spiritual Strength
Never feel that you are alone. Your self, your consciousness and your spiritual strength is always with you. Never ignore yourself and the unseen hand of God that is always with you.” -- Yogi Bhajan
Some people think that their strength comes from their muscles or their wealth or their influence. But to the yogis strength does not come from the body or from the show of money or power. Strength comes from the spirit or soul. Soul is a part of the Creator. Therefore you are a part of the Creator and the Creator is a part of you. That is your strength! Spiritual strength is when you are constant and continuous in the flow of your spirit—no matter what comes your way!

During the month of December come to KYL and learn how to:
     - develop meditative strength
     - optimize the 8 chakras and 10 bodies
     - enhance your reputation, and
     - share the strength you have!

Healing Power of

‘Triple Gong & Mantra’

with Shakta Kaur, Hari Dev and Tej Karam Singh

Friday, December 26 - 6:30 to 8:00 pm
$16 advance / $20 door
Bring a friend and join us for our day-after-Christmas session of the ‘Healing Power of Gong and Mantra.’ Come share this special experience with a community of like-minded people. It will create a deep stillness in your heart and a calmness of your mind. Plus, you’ll experience the vibrations of not one, not two, but three beautiful Paiste gongs!

As always, we begin every ‘gong and mantra’ session with light Kundalini Yoga to prepare the body for what’s to come (the yoga is appropriate for all levels). Then we move into deep relaxation with three Paiste symphonic gongs. The gong is a reinforced vibration that impacts the entire body by releasing blocks and reducing tension to allow the inflow of all blessings, grace and elevation.

After the gongs we use primal sounds (mantra) to remind us that the entire universe was built on sound, on vibration. As you vibrate a particular combination of sounds, you tune into a different level of intelligence, or, consciousness.

So, Click Here to pre-register and join us with the deep vibrational healing of 'holiday' triple gong and mantra!
Earth's Sacred Day...
Winter Solstice Sunday Class
on the New Moon!

with Shakta

Sunday, December 21 10:30 am to 12 noon
(with delicious veggie potluck afterwards!)
We’ve come to the deepest place in our year ... the Winter Solstice! Solstice means ‘standing still sun.’ Winter solstice is when, because of the earth’s tilt, the northern hemisphere is leaning farthest away from the sun! And, it looks like the sun is ‘standing still.’ That makes it is the shortest day and the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere.  This year's Winter Solstice occurs on the day of the New Moon making it even more auspicious!

Winter Solstice was celebrated among the ancients as a turning point. It was a time to pull within, to be quiet and go deep. As the ancient ones knew, it is always in the deepest and darkest times that the best planting occurs. When you come to class with Shakta on Sunday, December 21st, be ready plant some new seeds of your own!

You will be asked to write down:
    · What you want to leave behind for yourself (personally) in 2014
    · What you want to bring forward for yourself (personally) in 2015, and
    · What you want to bring forward for the planet in 2015?

Prior to the Solstice, and to help you prepare to write these intentions, think about ...
    · What you are endeavoring to manifest now in your life?
    · How you can change your thought patterns to empower your intention?
    · What old connections could you release for your highest good?
    · Where could you turn for the best sources of inspiration and solutions?
    · What wisdom is seeking to reveal itself to you at this time?
    · What new idea has seeded itself already this winter and how can you best nurture it to fruition?

As you ponder the answers to these questions know that the Kundalini Yoga and Meditation that Shakta chooses for us on the New Moon Winter Solstice will be exactly what is needed! Come to class with Shakta on Sunday, December 21st to plant these seeds with a deep knowing that the light will return and that your intentions will blossom!

You may register ahead of time, or simply "drop in" for this special class.
Just For Fun
Moon Watch

Full Moon - Dec 6

New Moon - Dec 21 - Winter Solstice!

(Above Dates Adjusted for Central Time Zone)

Full Moon
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum, so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it, you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper, a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous causing side effect.)

Waning Moon
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought of as the best time to start a new project.

New Moon
The New Moon is when you are at your lowest...energy-wise. It is a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."  And, this month we celebrate the New Moon on the day of Winter Solstice!

Waxing Moon
... is the time between the New Moon and the day before the Full Moon. During this time the energy of the body moves into your higher centers (chakras). This is the time to bring new things, new people or new relationships into your life or to accelerate the progress of your special projects.

11 Days After New Moon
Yogi Bhajan taught that this is the day when you are in balance. The glandular system readjusts itself on this day. Your metabolism is changing, so if you eat very lightly (green foods) or if you live just on water and lemon today, your health will be perfect. Eat very lightly during the day. Eat only one meal and drink lemon and water the rest of the day.

A Thought From Yogi Bhajan
Nothing is the source of Everything. Silence is the source of all vibrations. Finite is the process of Infinity. Go in yourself deeper and deeper and deeper to your self. Find your self in the activity of silence. Every fiber must be in the shape of silence. Let every nerve enjoy the action and reaction of silence. Let every glandular system secrete in silence. Let your self enjoy the bliss of the silence. Still you are vibrating the Infinity.
