Shakta in Prince Edward Island
Early Morning Sadhana
This Saturday - July
Full Moon Sadhana at KYL
Shakta - 4:30 am to 7 am
"When a person gets up in the morning and does the sadhana, do you know what accompanies that person?
All the angels, all saints and sages come to listen.
Their souls fly to those places to listen where God is chanted."
4:30 am – Japji (meditative prayer)**
Once each month we offer the experience of early morning sadhana at KYL. We begin at 4:30 am when the rays of the sun are hitting the earth at a 60 degree angle. Why get up at this time? Because this is the time when all of the great spiritual teachers appear to bless, elevate and transform each one of us.
There is no charge for this special early morning sadhana.****
4:55 am – Kundalini Yoga Kriya (set of exercises)
5:50 am – Aquarian Sadhana Mantras*
6:55 am – Hukam*** and the Long Time Sunshine Song
7:00 am – Yogi Tea and light breakfast snacks! (bring something to share!)
NOTE: The doors to the Fine Arts Building (FAB) open at 4:00 am. Please time your arrival for between 4:00 and 4:15 am. We begin sadhana at 4:30 am. The doors to the FAB are locked again at 4:30 am.
* Yogi Bhajan gave a specific sequence of mantras on June 21,
1992, with instructions to use them for morning sadhana in this particular order: 1) Long Ek Ong Kar, 2) Wah Yantee, Kah Yantee, 3) the Mul Mantra, 4) Sat Siree, Siree Akal, 5) Rakhe Rakhanahaar, 6) Wahe Guru Wahe Jio and 7) the Guru Ram Das chant.
** Japji is a prayer which relates the conscious mind to the soul. ‘Jap-’ is often translated as ‘song of’ and ‘-ji’ as ‘the soul.’ As a result, Japji is called ‘the song of the soul.’
*** A ‘hukam’ is the divine order of the day.
**** Sadhana (pronounced ‘sod nuh’) is, literally, ‘spiritual discipline;’ the early morning daily spiritual practice.
Stress Relief & Resolving Issues from the Past
'Soul Talk' Conference Call with Shakta
Recording Now Available!
If you missed Shakta’s most recent ‘Soul Talk’ now you can listen whenever and from wherever you like!
Stress relief was the topic. Shakta shared that ‘stress’ means the pressure that life exerts on you and the way pressure makes you feel and act. You experience stress or strain when your inner resources are inefficient or blocked. It’s then that you can’t respond to stress effectively. Too much unprocessed stress ultimately distorts your focus, your clarity and even your sense of self.
On this call you will also learn:
-- 3 things that most people don’t know about stress,
-- a powerful meditation for stress relief and for resolving issues from the past plus,
-- how Teacher Training helps you overcome both external and internal stressors!

‘Communication is a gift to know. Communication is a gift to understand. Communication is a gift to realize. If you do not use communication for these three things, it is better that you shut up and don’t talk.’ -- Yogi Bhajan
Join us for this unique seven-day course (one of five Level 2 modules) to learn how to speak — meditatively and intuitively — not just to talk! The discipline of conscious communication qualifies you to speak each word one-pointedly, faithfully, courageously, directly and simply.
In this course you will learn to:
- Gather your energy and awareness to support what you intend to communicate.
- Practice harmonious communication in areas of conflict or confrontation.
- Consciously communicate at the subtle frequencies of your chakras.
- Realize prayer as the intimate presence of the Infinite within you.
This is our second Level 2 course at the beautiful
Copamarina Resort. You will love the ‘Copa.’ Their staff is truly accommodating. Our classroom is on the waterfront. Our vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared. Our group dinners under the trellis are nothing short of magical. And, we guarantee that you will enjoy relaxing in the hammocks scattered around the property during breaks from class!

Join us at KYL for this unique six-day course (one of five Level 2 Modules) to enhance the depth of your understanding of the mind and meditation. It is a unique opportunity for you to assess your meditative skill and refine your approach to meditation. To master your mind, you must master meditation!
In this course you will:

Increase your ability to observe neutrally, to clear your mind of distractions
Experience and practice the use of intuition as a primary skill

Registration is now open for a most unique learning experience on Canada’s beautiful Prince Edward Island (PEI). Shakta returns to PEI to lead a 220-hour Aquarian Teacher Level 1 Teacher Training course in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®.
12-Days Together –
Times Two! This amazing course is held in two 12-day sessions. The first session runs in the fall of 2014 and the second session in the spring of 2015. Conference calls are scheduled once each month during Nov., Dec., Jan., Feb. & March to keep us on-track with both our written homework and personal practice. And, the conference calls also keep us up-to-date with our fellow classmates as they share their experience of integrating the teachings of Yogi Bhajan into daily life.

are prepared by the Centre’s professional staff. You’ll feel at home and at ease at the Centre Goeland. Plus, a tree-lined path leads to the beach which is just steps away and available for you to enjoy during breaks from class. The bonds you’ll create with fellow classmates after sharing Teacher Training in this calming, rejuvenating and natural setting will last a lifetime!
Feeling the Call
- Some people take Level 1 Teacher Training because they feel the call to change their life. Some experience a huge lifestyle change and that experience is what calls them to Teacher Training. Just For Fun
Full Moon - July 12
New Moon - July 26
(Above Dates Adjusted for Central Time Zone)
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest
energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum,
so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your
energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this
day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink
cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought
to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down
so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it,
you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper,
a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous
causing side effect.)
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New
Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations
from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought
of as the best time to start a new project.
The New Moon is when you are at your lowest...energy-wise. It is
a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the
next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."
... is the time between the New Moon and the day before the Full
Moon. During this time the energy of the body moves into your higher
centers (chakras). This is the time to bring new things, new people
or new relationships into your life or to accelerate the progress
of your special projects.
11 Days After
Yogi Bhajan taught that this is the day when you are in balance.
The glandular system readjusts itself on this day. Your metabolism
is changing, so if you eat very lightly (green foods) or if you
live just on water and lemon today, your health will be perfect.
Eat very lightly during the day. Eat only one meal and drink lemon
and water the rest of the day.

A Thought From Yogi Bhajan
May you bless yourself by the strength of your grace. May you be beautiful and bountiful by the strength of your commitment. May you be prosperous, sharing, and loving by the strength of your truth. May this day bring the change so you can elevate yourself to your righteousness to serve others, to uplift and share your joy. May your birthright of happiness be that you dwell in God, be conscious and grateful for being human beings. Sat Nam.
