“It gives me a very great satisfaction that I could be such a pure channel that I could do something for the women of America. I am assuring you I will virtually live for this. I am a worshipper of the woman, Bhagwati. Lord Shiva is known to be the God of this earth, and I can kid with him anytime I like, I don’t care for him. But for the Bhagwati* I do care very much because I worship her in my heart. She is with me and the Divine Mother protects me all the time. I know my faults and my follies and I know my strong protection. That protection is stronger than anything I have realized in my whole life. Therefore, I feel like just lodging a great protest with the world today.

Don’t talk about peace, don’t talk about spirituality, don’t give us a message of Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Ram, Krishna. We have heard that and heard that. Give us something so that we may stop exploiting our own mother. Give us something that we can relate to this creative power of the God which is the mother. Give us something we can honestly draw in our heart the image of Grace of the Mother. And O Lord of Lords of the time, if you have created this world, create those environments where everybody’s mother, sister and every woman on this planet can live with grace and there shall be no circumstances in which she has to sell her beauty, sell her body, sell her being, sell her consciousness, to exist on this planet.

I do not know whether my tiny and feeble voice (well, it is very strong, I know about it) can be heard, and where, but I am pretty sure I will shout from those mountains, I will never rest on that planet on which woman is still being exploited. That is my ultimate goal and my ultimate urge. But I am not fool enough to try single handed. I know my thousands, and hundred thousands and millions of children shall be ready, the day shall be ready, we will wipe out this insult to our own generation, out of this planet. God has given me sufficient big heart, I can practice patience better than I can practice Yoga, therefore, I will wait up to that time when the soul in you will become so pure, so awake, so aware, that you will be willing to sacrifice your being to protect the very gentle, sweet being who brought you to what you are today.”

Free Community Breathwalk® Sunday, June 2 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm. If you like to walk you’ll love Breathwalk! And, on Sunday, June 2nd, KYL offers you the opportunity of trying out a free community Breathwalk class. You’ll practice walking while synchronizing your breath with your walking steps. And, you’ll enhance your experience with the art of directed, meditative attention. Plus, it is just lots of fun!

Two of our talented Breathwalk Instructors will guide you through this free session. This is not only for you--bring your friends and family, too. Who wouldn’t enjoy a walk outdoors on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Chicago? Meet us at 1:00 pm in the lobby of The Fine Arts Building (FAB), 410 S. Michigan Ave. on Sunday, June 2nd. Wear clothing appropriate for outdoor weather and comfortable walking shoes. There is no charge for this event! For the first time ever, Shakta is leading a Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course in Crystal Lake, Illinois.   The city of Crystal Lake is over 175 years old (map  Located 45 miles northwest of Chicago, 30 miles south of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and 60 miles southwest of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  In February 1836, the first white settlers, Beman and Polly Crandall and six of their ten children, came from New York State traveling to Crystal Lake in a covered wagon)

The Crystal Lake KY Teacher Training course takes place on 8 weekends over 8 months beginning June 7-8-9 at a beautiful private home. There is lodging nearby in homes of fellow classmates available to those who might need to stay overnight during the course!

This program is based on the comprehensive science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It is certified by the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). The course is registered as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance (YA).

In this Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course you learn the fundamental principles and practices of Kundalini Yoga. You embark on a tremendous journey of self-growth and personal development as you develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga and Meditation should you so choose.

This is a 220 hour course of which 180 are classroom hours of instruction in a well-defined curriculum including:

New Moon
The New Moon is when you are at your lowest...energy-wise. It is a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."

Waxing Moon
... is the time between the New Moon and the day before the Full Moon. During this time the energy of the body moves into your higher centers (chakras). This is the time to bring new things, new people or new relationships into your life or to accelerate the progress of your special projects.

11 Days After New Moon
Yogi Bhajan taught that this is the day when you are in balance. The glandular system readjusts itself on this day. Your metabolism is changing, so if you eat very lightly (green foods) or if you live just on water and lemon today, your health will be perfect. Eat very lightly during the day. Eat only one meal and drink lemon and water the rest of the day.

Full Moon
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum, so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it, you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper, a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous causing side effect.)

Waning Moon
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought of as the best time to start a new project.

With these words, and with this prayer of mine, on this most beautiful [Mother’s] day which I relate to, it is a day to be reminded of my own source of energy, I bow to every mother and I also ask to the would-be mother, to be graceful. And I ask every man who would seek peace to realize peace doesn’t come by protests and rallies. We know it and are aware of it. Peace comes from peaceful actions and so long as those born of the mother will not learn to respect the woman, there shall not be any peace on this planet. The day on this planet the woman will not be exploited; there shall be peace on earth.
