Early Morning Sadhana - Easter Sunday
April 4 at KYL

4:00 am - Japji Sahib (meditative prayer)
4:20 am - Yoga
5:10 am – Aquarian Sadhana Mantra Meditations
6:30 am - End
Reconnect with your spirit this Easter Sunday morning at KYL with early morning sadhana. It is a special day for many around the world because it is not only Christian Easter, but, Eastern Orthodox Easter, too. And, Passover ends on Sunday April 4 as well!

Christian and Orthodox Easter
Due to a difference in the Gregorian and Julian calendars, Eastern Orthodox Christians around the world celebrate Easter on a date which often varies from the date celebrated by Western Christians of Catholic or Protestant origin. However, in 2010 and 2011, both calendars are aligned and Eastern and Western Easter will be celebrated together for two consecutive years. Although the next date in common will occur in 2014, not since 1942 and 1943 has there been a consecutive coincident date of Easter between the two churches. And, another two-year coincidence will not occur until 2071 and 2072!

Early Morning Sadhana
Why get up to join us for early morning sadhana on Sunday? Because between 3:00 and 6:00 am, when the rays of the sun are hitting the earth at a 60 degree angle, Yogi Bhajan taught that all of the great spiritual teachers appear to bless, elevate and transform each of us.

Join the KYL Sangat* to receive these blessings!  We start with Japji (meditative prayer), practice a Kundalini Yoga set, and end with 62 minutes of meditations (the Aquarian Sadhana mantras). Once each month we offer the experience of early morning sadhana at KYL.

Sadhana means a daily spiritual practice.  The yogic scriptures call for at least two-and-a-half hours of sadhana before the rising of the sun.  The two-and-a-half hours is determined by the law of karma--everything you give, you receive back tenfold.    So, if you dedicate one-tenth of your day to your higher consciousness, your whole day is covered by the returning energy.  And, when a group of us meditates together, the total effect of our sadhana is multiplied by the number of people participating!

Getting up for sadhana is a victory over time and doing sadhana together is a victory over space.  Sadhana is a self-victory.  You become incapable of being defeated!  (There is no charge for early morning sadhana.) After sadhana, please join Shakta and Hari Dev for breakfast at their condo.  All are invited!

* 'Sangat' means the company of the holy. Please arrive between 3:30 and 4:15 am, the doors will be open only during that time.  Use the North end doors (on the right as you face the building) to enter -  only the door furthest left (of the North door-group) will be open.

Complete Unfinished Cycles with the ‘Change-Maker’ Meditation
An Evening Conference Call with Shakta

Tuesday, April 6

6:30 pm Central Time
7:30 pm Eastern
8:30 pm Atlantic
• Are you ready for a change this spring?
• Do you have some less-than-positive habits you would like to break?
• Is there some unfinished business—whether emotional, mental, physical or spiritual—that could use a gentle push towards completion?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions then join Shakta on a free conference call to learn a powerful yogic tool that can clear unfinished patterns from your past and help you achieve a higher level of understanding about yourself and the world around you.

The Kundalini Meditation that Shakta will share is one that many will practice together 40 days prior to the beginning of the Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada, Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course. This meditation uses the syllables Sa Ta Na Ma.
Sa = Infinity, cosmos, beginning.
Ta = Life, existence.
Na = Death.
Ma = Rebirth.
Sa, Ta, Na, Ma is, quite literally, the cycle of creation. From the Infinite comes life and individual existence. From life comes death or change. From death comes the rebirth of consciousness to the joy of the Infinite through which compassion leads back to life.

Shakta will also discuss details and answer questions regarding the Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada, Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course.

Discover the Art & Science of Improving Yourself!
Join us in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada for an in-depth experience in the technology of how to fulfill yourself as a human being!
“If you want to learn something, read about it.
If you want to understand something, write about it.
If you want to master something, teach it.” -- Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini Yoga is a sacred science. The sacredness of ‘you’ is awakened through its practice. You begin to realize there is nothing ‘out there’ that will make your life easier ... that you already have ‘within’ what you need for a life of ease, joy and abundance.

If this sounds like something you would like to explore on a deeper and personal level, then our Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training course in Prince Edward Island is designed just for you! In particular if you have noticed—
• ... that the pace of your life is increasing and you would like to know how to respond optimally to the constant change in your environment.
• ... that you could use some guidance on how to overcome some of the obstacles that seem to pop up here and there as you move along your life’s path.
• ... that your human machine needs not only physical stability at a time like this, but, it needs mental stability as well.

40 Days Prior to White Tantric Yoga® (WTY) Chicago

is Monday - April 5

40 days is a significant number in many spiritual traditions including Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. In the 40 days prior to WTY we recommend that you choose a yoga set (kriya*) and/or a meditation to practice daily. Begin on Monday, April 5, and continue until WTY Chicago.  To choose from 128 yoga sets and 149 meditations, click here.

Also, since the nature of your diet in the weeks prior to WTY impacts how easily your body/mind/spirit will cleanse afterwards we suggest avoiding junk foods (i.e., processed sugar/high fructose corn syrup), alcohol, caffeine and meat as much as possible. The ‘Recipes’ section of our website has many delicious vegetarian dishes to enjoy in the weeks prior to WTY. Click Here to see what we mean.

*A kriya in Kundalini Yoga is a sequence of postures, breath, mudra, eye focus and sound that are integrated together to access a particular state of mind, of well-being and/or of health.

The beauty of White Tantric Yoga is that it is subtle, it is exalting and it works to give you the mastery of life.” -- Yogi Bhajan

The yogis say that our minds release 1,000 thoughts in the blink of an eye. Some of these thoughts get lost in the unconscious and some get stuck in the subconscious affecting the conscious mind. These thoughts become feelings, emotions, desires and/or fantasies. Instead of mastering our mind, our mind and thoughts end up directing us!

White Tantric Yoga® (WTY) enables you to break through these subconscious blocks so that you can have a more enjoyable life. In the shortest time (one full day) you can experience release from a lot of the burden you carry in your mind.

WTY is done in pairs as a group meditation. Everyone sits facing a partner and follows instructions for the meditation given via DVD by the Mahan Tantric and Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan. [No need to bring a partner.]  A representative of the Mahan Tantric will be present to facilitate WTY Chicago.

Our day will consist of between six and eight meditations incorporating:
· a yoga posture (Asana)
· an eye focus (Dristi)
a hand position (Mudra)
· a breathing technique (Pranayam)
· and/or chanting (Mantra)
Sometimes the meditations are accompanied by music. The meditations vary in length, up to 62-minutes. There are ample breaks between each meditation. The environment is peaceful with a friendly, uplifting and supportive atmosphere.  Come spend the day with us and fortify your spirit!

Included in the course fee is a wonderful vegetarian lunch, featuring recipes from Hari Dev Singh's kitchen.  Click Here to register.

Come explore how to:
  • Create and maintain Soul-based relationships;

  • Recognize and create Authentic Relationships in each area of your life; and
  • Cultivate personal practices that develop your capacity for Authentic Relationships.

Each day you will study with the Master--Yogi Bhajan--in a video class and meditation. In addition, you will work individually and in groups, exploring the key concepts and ideas in Authentic Relationships. You will experience kriyas* and meditations as well as other processes to recognize how your personal life is affected both by Authentic Relationships and by relationships with a false core.

This is a 60+ hour course; one of five Level 2 modules. Fifty hours are spent in the classroom with 12 hours of home-study to be completed 90 days after the course concludes.

Full Moon - April 5

New Moon - April 19

(Above Dates Adjusted for Central Time Zone)

Full Moon
You are naturally accelerated on a full moon. You are at your highest energy level. The secretions in your body will be at their maximum, so you don't want your energy being used to consume food. Save your energy to reconstruct yourself. Try to drink only liquids on this day. If you feel you must eat, drink only milk. (But, don't drink cold milk right out of the refrigerator. Milk should be brought to a boil. Allow the milk to foam up and then bring the heat down so the milk is on a slow boil for 5-10 minutes. While cooking it, you may add a pinch of ground turmeric, a pinch of black pepper, a cinnamon stick, or a few pinches of ginger to reduce any mucous causing side effect.)

Waning Moon
... is the time between the Full Moon and the day before the New Moon. This is the best time to remove things, relationships or situations from your life that no longer serve you. It is not generally thought of as the best time to start a new project.

New Moon
The New Moon is when you are at your It is a good day to fast on lemon and water. Fast from sun-up until the next morning at breakfast, when you "break" the "fast."

A Thought From Yogi Bhajan
Meditation is the art of breaking habits, to purify the mind and to take care of day-to-day things.
